Helios Education Foundation Pathways Scholarship

Helios Education Foundation has established a transfer scholarship to support students pursuing the completion of a bachelor’s degree at one of four public universities in Florida, including Florida A&M University (FAMU), Florida International University (FIU), University of Central Florida (UCF), and University of South Florida (USF). The total fund for Florida is $500,000, split equally between the four participating universities.
FL Grant Amount per Institution: $125,000
 $100,000 in scholarships; $25,000 to fund student supportive services and administrative costs with no more than $12,500 used for administrative expenses.
Eligibility Criteria:
 Demonstrate financial need as determined by Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Federal Student Aid Estimator (if undocumented)
 Acceptance to FAMU, FIU, UCF, or USF
 Pursuing a bachelor’s degree
 Must be enrolled full-time as represented by 30 credit hours completed in 3 consecutive semesters or each school year
 Preference given to underserved and/or low-income students
 Must be a Florida resident
Award Amount:
 Up to $10,000 per year for up to two years, for a maximum award of $20,000 per student, based on Florida’s in-state tuition rate, or remaining cost of attendance (the lesser of the two)
 Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, or other educational expenses
Award Renewal:
This award is renewable for up to one additional year if students are in good standing and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Timeline:
Scholarship award winners selected by January 31, 2025 with names and contact information provided to Helios.
Award Ceremony:
As part of Helios’ 20th Anniversary year, and to honor and celebrate these FL-based students’ success and receipt of these scholarships, an event is scheduled for April 8, 2025, in Tampa. Scholarship recipients and two guests, Helios Board and staff, community leaders and media will be invited. For recipients who reside outside of the Tampa Bay area, Helios will provide one hotel room for the evening of the event and will pay reasonable transportation costs to the event as coordinated by the Helios team.
